Our success story dates back more than a century back at the lush spice forests of Sri Lanka. Over four generations, the Wickramasinghe family has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in cultivating and processing Ceylon Cinnamon and other Ceylon Spices.

In 1976, Tropical Island Commodities expanded into spice exports, positioning the organisation in the global arena. At Tropical Island Commodities, we are known for our commitment to consistent quality and flavour.

Almost five decades after our global expansion, we have established ourselves as the number one name in supplying Premium Quality Ceylon Spice varieties sourced from around the island.

We collaborate with a network of smallholder suppliers and regional plantation companies to ensure the quality of the Ceylon Spice from their spice forests to your kitchen pantry.

Consistency in quality and flavour in all our spices is critical to us. To make sure all our products retain the celebrated flavour of Ceylon Spices, we follow a stringent quality assurance process from sourcing to distribution. Moreover, we also empower our sourcing partners with knowledge and resources to maintain a global quality in all spices they produce.

A Widespread Sourcing Network

All the premium quality spices traded by Tropical Island are sourced from regional plantations owned by Browns Plantations and our extensive network of sourcing agents, spread across Sri Lanka. Estates managed by Maturata Plantations are our main source of the finest Ceylon Cinnamon while other Ceylon Spice varieties are sourced from regional plantations and smallholders.

Orthodox Harvesting & Processing

All our spices are harvested and processed with quality and flavour in mind. We combine traditional knowledge of Ceylon Spices with the latest technology to deliver the best to our customers. All our spices are handpicked and hand-processed using traditional tools and methods while packaging and final processing are done at our state-of-the-art factories.

Traceability & Transparency

Our transparent chain of sourcing and processing ensures that all Tropical Island products can be traced back to its farms and plantations. We also ensure transparency in our production, packaging, and distribution process, making it easy for our customers to be comfortable with the quality of the product we deliver.
